Facing Wattle St and Acacia Avenue, the proposal is a multistorey childcare centre presenting a restrained but strong presence to a prominent corner site in suburban Sydney. Sitting atop a significant basement required to satisfy council's car parking requirements, the centre is in two parts : a long rectangular volume with a lower collonade and upper brick-lattice screen shielding a rooftop playground, and behind a single storey lightweight addition is reminiscent of suburban residential extensions common in Sydney's suburbs.

The landscape design takes cues both from the climate - a hot, drier part of the city - as well as some of Punchbowl's historical quirks from pencil pines to tire-swans, embedded in planterboxes rendered in "pebblecrete".

The rear single storey additional features a skillion roof with highlight, south-facing windows to provide natural, diffuse light with minimal solar heat load into the ground floor classrooms.
