Our Studio

Supercontext is an architectural practice with a focus on quality, experimentation and finding pragmatic opportunities to create better spaces and places through our understanding of contemporary construction. We are a team with experience and qualifications in architecture, interiors and project management in Australia and internationally.

Alongside practice, we have taught and researched at leading Australian institutions including The University of Sydney (USYD), The University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) and Western Sydney University (WSU) to develop our understanding of the city and inform how we make it better through our built works.

In 2021, Supercontext established an employee ownership scheme. All employees after 2 years continued employment at Supercontext are offered holdings in our employee ownership trust, meaning our team all benefit from creating projects for our clients and our cities.

We design around 3 core principles:

1 Buildings that are good - for the environment, for you and put what's good for people first.

2 Buildings that are both practical and experimental all at once, that take advantage of pragmatic opportunity to solve problems in unexpected and unique ways.

3 Buildings that use appropriate means for maximum benefit - more with less, without being a bore!

Based in Sydney’s Chippendale, our studio is a space of experimentation, creativity and the centre of our professional services. The garage - now our workshop - is where we build models and test ideas to develop the best outcomes for projects. We also use the workshop as an event space to host small talks to continue to grow and support the design and architecture culture of our city.

We provide architectural design services specialising in commercial, education, community and public projects. To learn more about our services please contact us via email at studio@supercontext.studio
